Cameron Thomson - Edinburgh
Cameron has extensive experience of the financial service industry, having spent over 20 years working in a variety of roles with 3 major clearing banks. During that time he was primarily engaged in working with early stage and mature businesses, turning over up to circa £20m, and managing relationships and associated credit line requirements. In addition, he gained experience as a training facilitator delivering a variety of leadership development and training programmes to his peer group.
For the last 3 years he has operated in the world of Private Equity, initially as “Gatekeeper” of a Private Equity Fund, where he specialised in Electronics and Engineering, and more recently as Regional Director for Scotland and the North West for a Group of circa 3,500 private equity investors, based throughout Britain and Europe. He also operates his own company, specialising in assisting early stage and mature businesses to commercialise their business opportunities.
Cameron is a keen fan of football, rugby and golf – a season ticket holder at Hamilton Academicals Football Club and Honorary Vice President of Hamilton Golf Club (Captain, 2006) with a golf handicap of 7. Cameron is the father of 3 boys – Ewan (12), Ruaridh (9) and Grant (6), and has to claim stewardship of 2 rather mad flat coated retrievers.
Cameron is also an experienced after dinner speaker.
Cameron leads the Scotland Fifteen leadership coaching and mentoring group.
