The South West group has been up and running since February 2008 and currently has ten members; all are CEO or MD level with a vast amount of business and organisational experience. Members are drawn predominately from the Taunton, Exeter and Plymouth areas, between them they have an extensive network of friends and business contacts in the South West.

Currently our membership brings a wealth of knowlege and personal experience to the table: Start-up, rewable energy, personal wealth management, corporate finance, higher education, PFI, banking, marketting, large scale contract bidding, raising finance, etc. For new members it really is like being able to access a fabulous board of Non-Exec Directors all willing and very able to help.

The group meets once a month at the Mount Somerset Hotel Nr Taunton eleven times a year (August is excluded) and during these meetings members help one another to solve each others organisational issues. The members have succesfully built a friendly, supportive yet constructively critical group ethic which has become highly valued by all. Every other month we invite interesting, informative or inspirational speakers to our sessions, many have been tried and tested by other Footdown groups and have proved their popularity by demands from members for followup sessions.

I see every member once a month for follow up one-to-one sessions and together we work on their organisatinal or personal goals. These coaching sessions offer each member a safe and strickly private and confidential opportunity to talk through matters they would otherwise in all probability have to deal with in isolation.
