Ascot
The Ascot Fifteen meet ten times a year for a whole day session. These are held once a month except for August, and in September there is an “Advance Session” – a day and a half meeting setting goals for the coming year.
The meetings are largely driven by the group itself, following a format we call an Executive Session, where a Member can bring any issue they have to the table. Additionally, for about half the sessions in a year, a first-class motivational guest Speaker is hired to: provide insights into his/her particular business experiences; demonstrate innovative leadership techniques; stimulate discussion; and so on.
Between meetings each member has a two-hour one-to-one coaching session with the Leader in order to discuss and further his/her individual goals and aims.

Posted on February 1, 2012It is at times of crisis that a true leader strives even harder to be the best that they can be. At the recent Woolley Grange conference, Footdown ran an event with the aim of offering an alternative approach to dealing with crisis. Why? Because there are two critical issues at stake: a need to make the workplace a location of meaning for members of staff and leaders alike, and to ensure that organisations are financially viable, allowing them to not just survive, but grow in crises. Doing things the same way we have always done is just not an option.

That was the encouragement I needed and so this article is not what you would normally expect from me. It concentrates on a recent experience I have had in dealing with one form of social media – LinkedIn.
