Footdown School of Coaching
Building leadership talent is the most significant challenge facing employers today and, according to the 2009 IBM Human Capital Study, it keeps 80% of CEOs awake at night. But, only 1 in 5 managers is professionally qualified.
Coaching is a key skill in a leader. And, in line with our aim of helping leaders to be the best they can be, we have created a programme to help them develop this skill and develop a more coaching style of leadership.

We have developed a unique and rigorously designed programme, based on the Footdown Insight model, that has an appropriate balance between theory and practice. Completing the programme successfully qualifies participants to be a Footdown coach or mentor. The programme is independently accredited by the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) and qualifies participants for the ILM Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring.
ILM accreditation
Footdown’s School of Coaching is accredited by ILM as a recognised provider. The ILM is the leading awarding body for management, leadership and coaching qualifications.
We achieved ILM status following a rigorous approval process, ensuring that our programme materials and operational processes are of the highest quality.
Our Coaching & Mentoring programme is designed and delivered at the ILM Level 5 Certificate standard. This aims to equip practising managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors, as part of their normal work role.
For more information on ILM endorsement and qualification levels please visit the ILM website.
