EI Leadership
Executive Insight™ (EI)
Executive Insight™ is adapted from the work of Dr. Gerald W Faust and is under licence from the Faust Management Corporation.
Footdown Insight™ distinguishes the characteristics of leadership, compared with those of management. Where managers plan and budget, organise and staff, control and problem solve; the modern leader needs to set vision and direction, and to create an inspirational culture and effective structures which properly support empowerment and accountability. The Leadership domain explores the effectiveness of these four areas.
PURPOSE & DIRECTION - Indicates how the organisation creates and communicates its purpose and direction, Reveals how organisations define their vision, strategies, goals, key objectives and priorities. Reveals key leadership styles and behaviours.
STRUCTURE & EMPOWERMENT – Relates to the organisation’s structure, definition of roles, responsibility and delegated authority. Identifies extent of involvement of team members in decision-making. Reveals any functions that are not being performed.
INFORMATION & ACCOUNTABILITY – Relates to systems and processes used to provide information and manage accountability based on strategic information. Explores timing, accuracy, and effectiveness of management meetings, problem solving processes and communication throughout the organisation.
REWARD & RECOGNITION – Indicates how the organisation provides incentives, rewards and recognition across its many elements and supporting functions. Explores general strategies and philosophies regarding motivation, recognition and reward. Areas include how innovation is reflected as a core process and how talent is recruited, rewarded and motivated.
Turning a great vision into reality requires the productive interaction of many diverse resources – people, finance, systems, etc. These are complex interactions that require effective planning, monitoring and control. There are two categories in the Leadership domain – Structure & Empowerment and Information & Accountability which aim to identify areas that could benefit from improvement ranging from the understanding of what kind of talent the organisation needs through to the information systems used to help the leadership team understand how the organisation is doing.
