Richard Green - Finance Director
Richard Green has been a successful divisional Finance Director for many years working for a number of food and agricultural companies, including Tate & Lyle, Dalgety and Unigate. He joined Footdown’s leadership development and training organisation in 2005 and 2OC, the renewable energy start up founded by Andrew Mercer and Bath Footdown Fifteen member, Michael Edge, in 2006. He was part of the team that negotiated the terms of 2OC’s joint venture with National Grid – Blue-NG – and was appointed to the board of Blue-NG at its inception in September 2007.
During his time with Dalgety and Unigate he gained significant management experience at company and divisional board level. He was able to put this experience to good use when he was part of a management buy-out team that acquired the agricultural interests of Dalgety PLC for £50m in 1998, creating Dalgety Group. In this capacity he assumed responsibility for treasury, tax, property, company secretariat, insurance and IT.
Richard graduated from Bristol University in 1973 with an honours degree in Chemistry and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1976. He was a trustee at the Silsoe Research Institute for a number of years.
