About Us

Title Block for About Us

Footdown was founded in 2001 by our Chairman, Andrew Mercer, to help Entrepreneurs and leaders achieve their personal and organisational goals. Underpinning this effort are our own organisational core values, summed up below.

MAKING A DIFFERENCE
GETTING IT DONE, DOING IT RIGHT
'WOW'
'BUZZ'
We want to make the world a better place.
We focus on doing the right things well.
Getting people's attention, then working with their intention.
Making it fun and keeping the momentum going.
Located in Bath, Footdown has been a successful leadership development and executive mentoring organisation since inception. Early in our development we established the Footdown Fifteens - providing opportunities for executives from different sectors to come together and discuss important issues in a confidential and supportive environment. Remaining an important part of the business today, these mentoring groups have provided Footdown with invaluable reality checks during the development of our programmes.

Footdown’s principle aim, “to help leaders be the best they can be”, has led to the development of our Organisational Intelligence Platform, Footdown's F1.1. The simple survey style quickly reveals blind spots and weaknesses within organisations. Over the last 5 years, we have developed the F1.1 into a powerful software application which quickly assesses the health of an organisation, exposes weaknesses and identifies routes to improved performance. It is very user friendly.

Our links to the Business Schools at the Universities of Bath and Exeter have been vital in ensuring that the research and development of F1.1 is soundly based and subject to rigorous assessment. Whilst aimed firmly at achieving fast end effective business results, it has ensured these results remain academically grounded..

F1.1 has proved so effective that we have now structured our service around the exploitation of this powerful and cost effective approach to helping organisations achieve the high levels of performance needed to compete effectively in today's existing and evolving marketplace.
