Bath Fifteen Member Cycles for Music for All

Tim Walter is Managing Director at Roland UK and member of the Footdown Bath Fifteen.

Roland is a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of musical instruments including pianos, keyboards and synthesizers, guitar products, electronic percussion kits, digital recording equipment, amplifiers and audio processing devices.

Roland UK’s Tim Walter, Peter Heath and Simon Griffiths announced the return of their Three Men on a Bike charity initiative at the MIA Awards, but they have significantly lengthened the journey this time around.

Last year’s inaugural fundraiser saw the trio raise £22,000 for the Music for All charity and the British Heart Foundation. The Three Men team, led by the supplier’s board of directors, cycled 430 miles from Land’s End to London, supported by some of the music industry’s finest (and fittest) people.

Next year the Three Men are set to take on an even tougher challenge.

In August 2012, the team will set off from John O’ Groats to Land’s End, aiming to raise £30,000 on behalf of Music for All. With 2012 being the year of the Olympics, a Music for All torch will be carried throughout the ride, being passed between the guest riders taking part in the various stages.

“This one will be our greatest challenge yet, but to raise money for this fantastic cause and provide music equipment and lessons for kids who cannot afford it absolutely puts things in perspective. Footdown members have been incredibly supportive, who knows, we may even get some of them on their bikes?!” Tim Walter

The team is now looking for other industry members to help them reach their goal. if you’re interested in getting involved, please email janine@roland.co.uk
